About the Practice

Gareth W. Hammond, M.D. is a board certified orthopedic surgeon committed to providing the highest quality of orthopaedic care possible for every patient. While caring for your immediate or chronic problems, he strives to integrate the doctrine of prevention in all treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties. Gareth W. Hammond, M.D. specializes in sports medicine and athletic injuries with a particular interest in shoulder, elbow, and knee arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery.

He has served as team physician for the UC Irvine Athletic Department, University of Southern California Athletic Department, the Pac-10 Basketball Tournament, and NCAA Volleyball Tournament. Locally, he is active supporting independent league baseball as team physician for the Long Beach Armada. Dr. Hammond is part of the Greater Long Beach Orthopaedic Surgical and Medical Group, one of the oldest continuous medical practices in Southern California. The group has grown to represent a wide variety of orthopedic sub-specialties serving the Long Beach, Seal Beach, Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, Cypress, and Lakewood areas.
